Job summary

Otumoetai Doctors is seeking a proactive and organised Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our General Practice, supporting our clinical and administrative teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

The Practice Manager will oversee staff leadership, operational and financial management, compliance, workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives, coordinating non-clinical functions while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading administrative/operational teams in healthcare.
• Knowledge of PHO funding and primary care funding initiatives.
• Experience with HR, recruitment, and workforce planning.

Otumoetai Doctors are seeking a proactive and organised Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our General Practice, supporting our clinical and administrative teams to deliver exceptional patient care. The Practice Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice, with responsibility for staff leadership, operational and financial management, compliance, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role is a 0.8 FTE and coordinates the majority of non-clinical functions within the practice while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Working closely with the Directors, Clinical Nurse Lead and Admin Manager, the Practice Manager will provide leadership across the practice and help ensure effective systems, strong communication and the ongoing development of our services.

Key responsibilities

• Sound understanding of privacy, compliance, health and safety, and quality frameworks
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Knowledge of PHO and primary care funding initiatives
• Confidence using information systems and software
• The ability to manage competing priorities, identify opportunities for improvement, and maintain a high standard of professionalism and patient focus
• Previous management experience within a healthcare, primary care, or related environment is preferred
