Job summary

Halter in Auckland, NZ, seeks a Lead Engineer for the Platform team. You’ll shape cloud infrastructure, security, and AI-assisted engineering to scale our global platform for billions of daily events.

You’ll partner with backend, embedded, ML and data teams to accelerate velocity while maintaining reliability. You’ll own end-to-end problems, build golden paths, and mentor engineers, balancing pragmatic delivery with long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building and operating AWS at scale across multiple teams.
• Proven ability to shape platform direction and drive cloud infrastructure, networking, and IaC.
• Strong focus on security, observability, and reliability in a high-growth environment.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted tooling and strong developer experience across the org.

Responsibilities

• Drive the platform direction for cloud infrastructure, security, and AI tooling.
• Build out guardrails and golden paths to enable safe, quick shipping by engineers.
• Lead cross-team architectural discussions and evolve platform standards.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and hands-on guidance.
• Own on-call rotations and incident prevention measures.
