Job summary

Partly in Auckland is seeking a Head of Platform to lead the team that builds Partly’s internal platform, infrastructure foundations, reliability practices, and security-by-default capabilities. You will oversee platform as an internal product, shaping strategy, driving adoption, and partnering with engineering and business to accelerate delivery while controlling cost.

You’ll own ML/AI infrastructure and agentic-forward deployments, with a focus on scalable, secure foundations and developer

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a platform/infrastructure/SRE function with roadmap ownership and team-building.
• Strong knowledge of SRE practices, incident management, and observability.
• Deep cloud/Kubernetes experience with production workloads and scalable design.
• Hands-on IaC and automation with Terraform/ArgoCD/GitOps.
• Developer experience mindset: golden paths, docs, and adoption metrics.
• Security-by-default mindset with IAM, secrets, and vulnerability controls.
• Solid CS fundamentals and distributed systems awareness.
• ML/AI infra familiarity: GPU/TPU, model serving, MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Platform function (SRE, DevEx, Infra, Security enablement).
• Define roadmaps, hiring plans, and prioritisation across teams.
• Create default paths for developers (templates, CI/CD, provisioning).
• Own reliability foundations: observability, incident response, SLOs, budgets.
• Manage cloud/Kubernetes foundations, IaC, and automation.
• Develop ML infrastructure for foundation models and cost-aware deployment.
• Support agentic development with safe, self-service platforms.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to translate platform work into outcomes.
• Hands-on delivery early to set standards and unblock issues.
