We’re looking for a hands‑on Plant Engineer to help keep our quarry running safely, reliably and efficiently. In this role, you’ll be central to keeping production moving — tackling preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and supporting continuous improvement across the site. You’ll be a key link between operations and maintenance, ensuring plant work is completed safely, efficiently and to Rangitikei Aggregates’ standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance & Engineering – Complete planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on quarry infrastructure.
  • Daily Checks – Carry out inspections and audits to spot faults, hazards and improvement opportunities.
  • Fault Diagnosis – Identify root causes, implement corrective actions and help reduce downtime.
  • Repairs & Fabrication – Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, fitting and project work.
  • Reporting – Maintain accurate records and contribute to maintenance planning and improvement activity.
  • Safety & Hazard Management – Identify hazards, follow isolation and permit to work processes, and support HS&E initiatives

What this role offers:
  • Guaranteed 40 hours - Monday to Friday and some Saturdays on roster
  • Weekly paid, hourly rate from $40.00

What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification in engineering, fitting, mechanical maintenance or similar experience, preferably in quarries
  • Safety mindset – strong commitment to upholding Health & Safety standards; able to work safely in noisy, dusty or hot environments.
  • Communication & teamwork – clear communicator who can work independently and build strong relationships across the site.
  • Planning & prioritisation – able to organise maintenance tasks effectively and respond to operational priorities.

Why Join Us

You’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, with plenty of variety and the chance to make a real impact on plant reliability and quarry performance.
