Job summary

Winstone Aggregates in the Manawatu District, North Island, is seeking a hands-on Plant Engineer to keep our quarry running safely, reliably and efficiently. Winstone Aggregates - Manawatu District, North Island

We're looking for a hands-on Plant Engineer to help keep our quarry running safely, reliably and efficiently. In this role, you'll be central to keeping production moving - tackling preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and supporting continuous improvement across the site. You'll be a key link between operations and maintenance, ensuring plant work is completed safely, efficiently and to Rangitikei Aggregates standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Maintenance & Engineering - Complete planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on quarry infrastructure.
• Daily Checks - Carry out inspections and audits to spot faults, hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Fault Diagnosis - Identify root causes, implement corrective actions and help reduce downtime.
• Repairs & Fabrication - Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, fitting and project work.
• Reporting - Maintain accurate records and contribute to maintenance planning and improvement activity.
• Safety & Hazard Management - Identify hazards, follow isolation and permit to work processes, and support HS&E initiatives

What this role offers:

• Guaranteed 40 hours - Monday to Friday and some Saturdays on roster
• Weekly paid, hourly rate from $40.00

What You'll Bring

• Trade qualification in engineering, fitting, mechanical maintenance or similar experience, preferably in quarries
• Safety mindset - strong commitment to upholding Health & Safety standards; able to work safely in noisy, dusty or hot environments.
• Communication & teamwork - clear communicator who can work independently and build strong relationships across the site.
• Planning & prioritisation - able to organise maintenance tasks effectively and respond to operational priorities.
