Job summary

Southern Screenworks Ltd in Kirwee (Canterbury) invites applications for experienced Plant Operators. Based from Aylesbury, Christchurch, you’ll work across quarrying, screening, crushing and mobile plant operations throughout Canterbury and beyond.

You’ll join a practical, committed team offering career development and travel opportunities across Island projects. You should have heavy plant experience, Class 1/2 licences with W/T endorsements, a strong safety mindset, and good teamwork.

• Experience operating heavy plant in quarrying, mining, civil, contracting or similar environments.
• Strong safety and quality mindset.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and develop quarry qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support heavy mobile plant and equipment including mobile screens.
• Collaborate with Production, Workshop and Transport teams to keep jobs moving safely and efficiently.
• Travel to project sites within Canterbury, South Island, and offshore as required.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards in a busy quarrying environment.

Southern Screenworks Ltd - Kirwee, South Island

Southern Screenworks is growing strongly, and we are looking for experienced Plant Operators to join our busy team. Based from Aylesbury, Christchurch, we work across quarrying, screening, crushing and mobile plant operations throughout Canterbury, the South Island, and at times Chatham Islands and offshore in the Pacific. This is a great opportunity for capable operators who want variety, good gear, a strong crew and the chance to build a long-term career in the quarrying and mobile plant industry.

What you'll be doing

You will operate and support a range of heavy plant and mobile equipment, including:

• Mobile screens

You will work closely with our Production, Workshop and Transport teams to keep jobs moving safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Delivery for our clients is critical to our success.

What we're looking for

We are looking for operators who are skilled, hardworking, reliable, safety-minded and ready to be part of a high-performing team.

You will ideally have:

• Experience operating heavy plant in quarrying, mining, civil, contracting or similar environments
• Class 1 and 2 licences, with W and T endorsements
• A strong safety and quality mindset
• Good communication and teamwork
• A practical and positive can-do attitude
• Physical fitness for hands-on operational work
• Flexibility to work away from home when required
• Willingness to learn, use systems and keep developing
• A/B Grade Quarry Manager certification, or an interest in working towards it
