Job summary

Winstone Aggregates in New Zealand is seeking a proactive Quarry Operator for day shift 6:00am–5:30pm, with occasional Saturdays. You will support daily quarry operations focused on production, load-out, and timely delivery of products to customers.

Experience with heavy machinery such as dump trucks, excavators or loaders is advantageous; we offer upskilling toward leading hand opportunities and safety-focused training in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 2 Drivers Licence with WTR.
• Be mechanically minded.
• Right to work in New Zealand.
• Decent level of fitness for manual heavy lifting.
• Strong safety attitude to keep teammates safe.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day loading of aggregate products and stockpile management.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Participate in Health & Safety and toolbox meetings.
• Maintain a safe and presentable work area including stockpiles, yard and haul roads.
• Approach each shift with safety as a priority and care for machinery.
• Support the Quarry Manager with assigned tasks.

Job description

We are seeking skilled and proactive Quarry Operators to work our day shift between 6:00am to 5:30pm, with the occasional Saturday.

In this role, you will support the daily operations of the quarry, with a focus on production and load-out tasks to ensure timely delivery of products to our customers.

Having previous heavy machine experience within the quarry such as dump truck operation, excavators and loaders is an advantage and with time we can upskill and train you towards leading hand opportunities.

Your key responsibilities include;

• Day-to-day loading of aggregate products, handling plant machinery, and managing stockpiles.
• Interacting professionally with customers, ensuring positive experiences.
• Participating in Health & Safety meetings and regular toolbox meetings.
• Maintaining a safe and presentable work area, including stockpiles, yard and haul roads
• Approaching each shift with safety as a priority, ensuring proper care of machinery.
• Supporting the Quarry Manager with assigned tasks.

For this role you will need:
