Job summary

Winstone Aggregates in Auckland is hiring a Fixed Plant Operator for the Hunua Quarry. The role runs a day shift from 6:30am to 5:00pm, with occasional Saturdays on the roster. You will learn fixed plant operation, maintain equipment, and ensure safe production with a can-do attitude.

We value reliability, willingness to learn, and a hands-on approach. Prior plant experience helps, but we offer training to grow your career within a long‑standing quarrying business.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 2 Driver's Licence with WTR is preferred but not mandatory.
• Dump Truck, Excavator or Loader experience is advantageous.
• Be mechanically minded and practical.
• Right to work in New Zealand.
• Decent level of fitness for manual tasks.
• Maintain a positive attitude and teamwork to keep colleagues safe.

Responsibilities

• Keep production moving by visually checking the plant and clearing obstructions.
• Prioritise safety requirements and identify hazards.
• Data entry as part of shift duties.
• Set up, prepare, and fix equipment as needed.
• Perform shutdown procedures and maintain equipment while clearing the work area.

Join Our Team as a Quarry Operator! Who we are looking for:

Are you ready to get your hands dirty in the quarry industry? We're thrilled to offer an opportunity for a Plant Operator to work our day shift between 6:30am to 5:00pm, with the occasional Saturday at our Hunua Quarry. If you have prior experience operating a fixed plant, fantastic! However, if you're enthusiastic and eager to learn, we're here to support you in kick-starting your career. We value reliability, passion, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the exciting world of operating our fixed plant.

Tasks you will undertake as a Fixed Plant Operator:

• Keeping production moving - visually check plant (clearing obstructions)
• Prioritise safety requirements – hazard identifications
• Data entry
• Set up, prepare, and fix equipment as needed
• Perform shutdown procedures and maintain equipment while clearing the work area
