Job summary

Redwood School (Tawa) invites a certificated and registered teacher to join the Kiwi Syndicate (Phase 1 - Years 1-3) for a full-time fixed-term role during 2027. Start date 28 January 2027; End date 15 December 2027, covering a flexible working arrangement.

You’ll be part of a supportive team with established Literacy and Mathematics practices, delivering engaging, integrated learning across the primary curriculum and collaborating on school-wide PLD goals.

Qualifications

• Evidence of effective teaching practice in primary education.
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate literacy and numeracy programs.
• Experience with project-based learning and integrated curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement teaching across Years 1–3 in the Kiwi Syndicate.
• Deliver engaging lessons across English, Mathematics, Science and more.
• Collaborate within a supportive team and align with curriculum goals.

One of our kaiako is returning from maternity leave and trialling a Flexible Working Arrangement in 2027, and as a result we have a fixed-term position for the entirety of 2027 in our Kiwi Syndicate (Phase 1 - Years 1-3). You will be part of a supportive team with well-established Literacy and Mathematics practices, and a commitment to developmentally-appropriate project-based integrated learning.

Major Professional Learning foci for 2026 are delving deeper into the new curriculum documents, embedding our pedagogy and practice in Mathematics, and continuing to explore effective teaching practice in project-based learning. We have great staff, awesome students, and a supportive community.

This role would be suitable for teachers who are both experienced or at the beginning of their teaching careers. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. An individual's actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
