Job summary

Shelly Park School in Auckland is seeking an innovative classroom teacher for a fixed-term maternity leave role covering Years 1–8. Start date is 26 January 2027 and end date is 26 January 2028.

You will deliver engaging lessons across the primary/intermediate range, align with the New Zealand Curriculum and structured literacy practices, and foster strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and effective assessment practices.
  • Culturally responsive teaching with a focus on relationships with students and families.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and align with school values.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across Years 1–8.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and implement curriculum.
