Job summary

Bargain Chemist in Dunedin is seeking a Service Manager - Plumbing to lead the Dunedin plumbing service division. You will own the P&L, grow the business, and build a high‑performing team for a NZ operator.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll run day‑to‑day operations, lead service trades and office staff, and be accountable for profit targets and business development. This is a leadership role with real scope to shape the division.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in senior management, operational leadership or service management.
• Strong commercial acumen, including P&L and budget management.
• A track record in business development and revenue growth.
• Proven people leadership and the ability to build a high-performing team.
• Strong understanding of the plumbing and service industry.
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
• Full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence

Responsibilities

• Own P&L performance, spotting opportunities and areas for improvement
• Grow domestic and structured service work, including pull-through work
• Support service contracts across the South Island
• Oversee quoting and pricing, following up to win work and protect margin
• Manage key accounts and ensure customer expectations are met
• Work with the service coordination team to maximise trades utilisation
• Collaborate with the Dunedin contracting teams to support the wider branch
• Lead hiring, development, performance and remuneration reviews (HR support available)
• Champion health and safety, including audits and critical risk management

Service Manager - Plumbing

Location: Dunedin | Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time | Salary: Up to $140,000 + company vehicle

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you'll run the day-to-day operations of the Dunedin service business unit. You'll lead the service trades and office staff, and be accountable for profit targets and business development.

This is a key leadership role for someone who can build a strong team, deliver commercially and take a successful business unit to the next level.
