Job summary

Port Otago Group is seeking a People & Safety Systems Analyst for our Head Office in Port Chalmers. You will administer Learning Management, Payroll, Safety, and Time & Attendance systems, ensuring data integrity and providing user support.

You will support reporting, dashboards, and system upgrades, collaborating with IT and vendors to drive improvements while handling multiple priorities with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification in HR, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Have 3-5 years' experience as a Systems Analyst, ideally across HR, payroll, safety or workforce management systems.
• Have strong data analysis and reporting skills, including confident use of Excel and reporting/BI tools.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail and data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Show sound problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Exhibit well-developed communication and training skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Experience contributing to systems projects or process improvement initiatives is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as day-to-day administrator for Learning Management System, Payroll System, Safety System and Time & Attendance System, managing user access and configuration.
• Provide first-line support to people leaders and kaimahi for system queries, troubleshooting issues and escalating to vendors as needed.
• Maintain data integrity across People & Safety systems via audits, data cleansing and reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain people and safety reporting and dashboards for Leadership Team and people leaders.
• Coordinate system updates, upgrades and integrations with IT and vendors.
• Lead and contribute to People & Safety systems projects and process improvement initiatives.
