Job summary

Port Otago Limited is recruiting a Risk and Assurance Advisor to join the Finance team at the Port Chalmers head office. You will drive risk management across Port Otago, maintaining risk registers, and providing assurance on controls.

We seek a risk professional with 3–5 years' experience, strong analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to translate risk concepts for non-specialists. A tertiary qualification in risk management or related field is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary qualification in risk management, business, law, finance or a related field.
• Have 3–5 years' experience in a risk, insurance, compliance or assurance role.
• Sound understanding of risk management frameworks and enterprise risk practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the corporate risk register with inputs from risk owners.
• Provide assurance over critical risk controls and monitor risk management plans.
• Support insurance renewals, claims and broker relationships; lead business continuity planning.
• Prepare risk and critical risk reporting for Leadership Team, Audit & Risk Committee and Board.
• Facilitate risk assessment workshops and assist business units to identify and mitigate risks.
• Support internal and external audit processes and track compliance with legislation and standards.
