Job summary

Sime Darby Motor Group (NZ) Ltd is seeking an experienced People Experience Advisor to join the PX team in Christchurch. You will provide trusted advice on employment relations, performance, recruitment and development, while supporting PX initiatives across a national business.

The role offers autonomy, with responsibilities spanning recruitment, onboarding, investigations, remuneration queries, reporting, and leadership development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ HR/People Experience in New Zealand in a generalist advisory environment.
• Proven employment relations experience and a strong understanding of New Zealand employment legislation.
• Experience using HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
• Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• The confidence to work independently while building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel within New Zealand when required.
• Resilience, professionalism and discretion when navigating sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and internal movements.
• Providing practical, commercially focused advice on people matters.
• Lead and support conduct, performance, grievance, absence management, and workplace investigations.
• Support medical incapacity processes, remuneration queries, and policy interpretation.
• Deliver people reporting, insights, and training that build leadership capability.
• Drive performance, talent, and succession planning activities.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
• Contribute to key People Experience initiatives and projects.
