Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a People & Capability Coordinator in the Taranaki region. This full-time fixed-term role until 5 February 2027 offers exposure to HR administration, onboarding, reporting and coordination across the AskHR service.

You will manage inquiries, maintain employee records, prepare reports and support managers and staff with timely, professional HR guidance in a collaborative team environment.

About the Role

This full-time fixed term opportunity until 5 February 2027 offers the chance to contribute to a broad range of People & Capability activities while supporting the delivery of high-quality HR services across the organisation. As a People & Capability Coordinator, you will be a key point of contact for the AskHR service, managing enquiries received through the shared mailbox, coordinating responses, maintaining accurate employee records and documentation, preparing reports, and ensuring managers and employees receive timely and professional support. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You will work across HR administration, onboarding, reporting, document management, compliance activities and customer service, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, building strong relationships, thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. Key responsibilities

About you

You will be organised, proactive and relationship-focused, with the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

You will bring:
  • Experience in HR administration, People & Capability coordination, business support, project coordination, or a similar support role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
