Job summary

Skyline Queenstown is seeking a Human Resources, Training and Labor Relations Specialist to fill a 12-month parental leave cover as a People & Capability Business Partner.

Based in Queenstown, you will partner with operational leaders, deliver practical people-focused solutions across the employee lifecycle, and help drive leadership capability, change, and an exceptional employee experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience partnering with leaders and stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation.
• Ability to navigate broad employee relations matters with sound judgement and pragmatic solutions.
• Generalist HR experience within medium to large organisations.
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation.
• Experience supporting organisational change and leadership capability development.

Based in Queenstown and reporting to the Group Manager - P&C Operations, you'll be a trusted People & Capability Business Partner to operational leaders, working closely with the General Manager and leadership teams to deliver practical, people-focused solutions that support business success. This is a true Business Partner role, providing strategic and operational support across the full employee lifecycle.

You'll play a key role in building leadership capability, strengthening team performance, navigating employment relations matters, driving organisational change, and enhancing the employee experience.

With a partnership approach, you'll develop strong relationships across our operational businesses, coaching and influencing leaders while helping to deliver people initiatives aligned with Skyline's wider business goals. You'll also contribute to a range of people projects and programmes that support capability, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

You will have exceptional relationship building skills and you thrive on partnering with leaders to solve challenges through a people lens. You'll bring sound judgement, a pragmatic approach, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.

You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, influencing at all levels of the organisation, and supporting leaders through both day-to-day people matters and broader business change.

You will have/be

• proven experience partnering with leaders and stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation, providing advice across a broad range of employee relations matters,
• a practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to navigate complex people challenges with confidence,
• strong generalist HR experience within a medium to large organisation,
• sound knowledge and practical application of New Zealand employment legislation,
• experience supporting organisational change, leadership capability development, and people initiatives,
• previous leadership or operational management experience will be highly regarded.
