Job summary

Laminex Taupo, part of Fletcher Building, seeks a Machine Operator for a 4-month fixed term contract with an immediate start. The role involves operating production plant equipment, supporting production, and maintaining quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shifts rotate: 4 days on, 4 days off (approximately 42 hours per week). Applicants with 1–2 years’ experience, ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery, and basic computer skills are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator within manufacturing (wood-based industry preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards
• Basic computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, and plant/system interfaces
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning
• Able to work independently while contributing to a team
• Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems
• Physically fit, able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous)

About the Role:

Laminex Taupŋ is seeking Machine Operators for a 4-month fixed term contract opportunity with an IMMEDIATE START (PREFERRED). This hands-on role involves operating production plant equipment, supporting production, maintaining quality standards, and working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role has rotating shifts: 4 days on and 4 days off – 2 days, 2 nights (an average of 42-hour week).

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• At least 1-2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator within a manufacturing environment (wood-based industry preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards
• Basic computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, and plant/system interfaces
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning, with the ability to quickly pick up new processes and apply technical knowledge in a hands-on environment
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems.
• Physically fit, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, and OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous)
