CanRecruit is sourcing a Machine Operator for a busy manufacturing plant in Christchurch region. The role involves operating a metal roll former and related machinery to produce building components, while upholding quality, safety and efficiency standards.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical mindset, a hands-on approach and the ability to troubleshoot minor issues to keep production running smoothly. Full training is provided for the right person.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to follow production plans and instructions.

• Reliable with good punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor manufacturing machinery including a metal roll former.
• Set up and adjust the roll former to meet specifications.
• Load and unload materials into machines.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Carry out basic machine adjustments and routine checks.
• Follow production schedules and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team to meet production targets.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join their busy manufacturing plant. This role involves operating a metal roll former and other machinery used in the production of building components while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are maintained.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, is comfortable operating machinery, and has a good mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor issues and keep production running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring manufacturing machinery, including a metal roll former
• Setting up and adjusting the roll former to produce quality products to specification
• Loading and unloading materials into machines
• Ensuring products meet quality standards and specifications
• Carrying out basic machine adjustments, troubleshooting, and routine checks
• Following production schedules and work instructions
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working closely with team members to meet production targets

Skills & Experience

• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience operating a metal roll former is highly advantageous (training can be provided for the right person)
• Mechanically minded with the ability to understand machinery and carry out basic adjustments
• Ability to follow instructions and production plans
• Good attention to detail
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and excellent punctuality
