Job summary

Laminex Taupō is seeking Machine Operators for a 4-month fixed term contract with an IMMEDIATE START. This hands-on role involves operating production plant equipment, supporting production, maintaining quality standards, and working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role has rotating shifts: 4 days on and 4 days off – 2 days, 2 nights (average 42-hour week). Pre-employment medical testing and a criminal history clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in manufacturing (wood-based preferred).
• Ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery.
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards.

About the Role:

This hands‑on role involves operating production plant equipment, supporting production, maintaining quality standards, and working safely in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• At least 1-2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator within a manufacturing environment (wood‑based industry preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards
• Basic computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, and plant/system interfaces
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to learning, with the ability to quickly pick up new processes and apply technical knowledge in a hands‑on environment
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems.
• Physically fit, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, and OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous)
