Job summary

Laminex Taupō is seeking Maintainer Operators with an Electrical Trade qualification to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will combine your electrical expertise with production operations, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising plant and equipment.

You’ll work on a 4 days on/4 days off rotating shift (2 days, 2 nights, average 42 hours per week), supporting safety, quality checks, and forklift operations to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on equipment maintenance.
• Electrical Trade qualification is essential.
• Ability to set up and troubleshoot plant machinery.
• Strong health and safety, teamwork and quality focus.
• Basic computer literacy for plant interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Set machine parameters, monitor performance and make real-time adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and fault-find to minimise downtime.
• Support quality checks and process improvements.
• Operate forklift when required.

About the Role:

Laminex Taupō is seeking Maintainer Operators with an Electrical Trade qualification to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will combine your electrical expertise with production operations, playing a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising plant and equipment. You’ll play a key role in our safety-focused environment, taking on responsibilities such as setting machine parameters, monitoring performance, making real-time adjustments, and supporting quality checks, troubleshooting, and forklift operations to keep production running smoothly.

This role has rotating shifts: 4 days on and 4 days off – 2 days, 2 nights (an average of 42-hour week).

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, supported by an Electrical Trade qualification and hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, fault-finding, and plant operations.
• Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plant machinery
• Strong commitment to health & safety, teamwork, and quality standards
• Basic computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, and plant/system interfaces
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning, with the ability to quickly pick up new processes and apply technical knowledge in a hands-on environment
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems.
• Physically fit, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, and OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous)
