Fluid Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer in Auckland, NZ. This part-time role (20-25 hours weekly) focuses on end-to-end payroll administration, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with NZ payroll requirements.
You will report to the CFO and handle all payroll processes, including new starters, changes, deductions and terminations, while liaising with HR and internal teams to support process improvements.
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join an established organisation in a part-time role.
This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident managing payroll processes from end to end. The hours are 20-25hours a week Monday to Friday with flexible start and finish times.
Reporting to the CFO, you will take responsibility for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, ensuring employees are paid correctly and all payroll requirements are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing weekly, monthly and ad hoc payroll
Managing new starters, employee changes, deductions and terminations
Maintaining accurate employee records
Managing timesheets and payroll data
Processing employee payments, benefits and adjustments
Responding to payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
Managing deductions and ensuring payments are made correctly
Completing IRD requirements and maintaining NZ payroll compliance
Preparing monthly and ad hoc payroll reports
Liaising with HR and other internal stakeholders
Supporting ongoing improvements to payroll processes and systems
You will have previous end-to-end payroll experience and a strong understanding of New Zealand payroll requirements.

Previous payroll administration/officer experience
Good knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and compliance
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good computer skills and confidence working with payroll systems
A reliable, proactive and solutions-focused approach
