Job summary

Manawatu Toyota in Palmerston North is seeking a Parts Advisor to join our busy team. You will accurately identify, pick and sell parts for customers using our online systems, and promote genuine Toyota parts and accessories. A strong customer-first attitude and good IT skills are essential for success.

The role includes stock organisation, customer follow-ups, and training opportunities within a collaborative and diverse workplace. Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with some Saturday mornings as rostered.

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and a positive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and team.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable with IT systems and learning new software.
• Good fitness for lifting and being on your feet during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify, pick and sell the right vehicle parts for customers via online systems.
• Promote genuine Toyota parts and accessories benefits.
• Maintain stock, keep workspace tidy and accurate.
• Make customer follow-up calls to ensure satisfaction.
• Understand and use the Pulse feedback system for customers.
• Commit to training and ongoing learning for the role.
• Work Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with some Saturday mornings per roster.

What will the position entail?

• Accurately identifying, picking and selling the right vehicle parts for customers through our online systems
• Promoting the strengths and benefits of using genuine Toyota parts and accessories
• Stock organisation and keeping it all up to date, tidy and accurate
• Customer follow up calls
• Understanding the importance of our customer 'Pulse' feedback system
• Committing to the training and learning that will come with the position
• Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm and some Saturday mornings (usually 1 in 4) as per roster requirements (9am-12pm).

What will I need?

• Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal, with the team and our customers
• A true customer first mentality where every customer feels their experience with us is positive and welcoming
• Superior organisation - you'll be juggling a few hubcaps at once so keeping cool, calm and collected is also a must!
• A good level of fitness as there is some lifting and 'on your feet' periods of the day
• Confidence in using IT including online platforms and picking up new systems easily
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Some experience in automotive parts could be an advantage, but is not essential - we want the right person!
• A true team player attitude coupled with a thirst for learning and retaining new information.
