Job summary

New World Te Rapa is seeking enthusiastic, reliable Supermarket Assistants to join our team. This part-time role covers Merchandising, Produce and Online, with specific shift patterns across Wednesday/Sundays, Sunday/Monday and Online slots.

You will help keep shelves well stocked, assist customers, and support store operations with a strong safety and quality focus. We value teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with product enquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
• Replenish stock and maintain attractive, fully stocked displays.
• Ensure the department is clean, organised, and presented to New World standards.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and processing stock efficiently.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Support preparation of department products as required.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures.

About the Role

As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience. You'll ensure shelves are well stocked and presented, assist customers with their enquiries, maintain a clean and safe department, and support the daily operations of the store. Flexibility to work across different departments is essential.

Part Time (2 days) across Merchandising, Produce and Online.

Merchandising Role 1:Wednesday/ Sundays 1:30pm-10pm

Role 2:Sunday/Monday 1pm-10pm

Online: Sunday/ Monday 7am-5pm

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with product enquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
• Replenish stock and maintain attractive, fully stocked displays.
• Ensure your department is clean, organised, and presented to New World's high standards.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and processing stock efficiently.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Support the preparation of department products where required.
• Follow all Food Safety, Health & Safety, and store compliance procedures.
• Record product wastage accurately when required.
• Work collaboratively with your team and provide support across other departments when needed.
• Represent New World's values by creating a welcoming shopping experience for every customer.
