Job summary

The Salvation Army Family Stores seek a part-time customer service all-rounder to deliver an excellent shopper and donor experience in a fast-paced retail setting. You will greet customers and donors, process stock, and support pricing and merchandising while working with colleagues to hit targets.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to daily store operations within a community-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service with the ability to de-escalate situations when needed.
• Resilient, positive, people‑oriented team player who relates to diverse backgrounds.
• Physically fit and capable of regular lifting as a daily part of the role.
• Capable of using retail technology such as point of sale software and tablets.
• Self-managing, able to keep to task and re-prioritise under pressure.
• Clear communicator, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service to customers and donors.
• Receiving, sorting, pricing and merchandising donated goods.
• Processing sales and end-of-day cash handling with accuracy.
• Ensuring the store is well presented, well stocked and tidy.
• Compliance with policies, SOPs, health and safety, and audit controls.
• Contributing to a positive team culture and general duties of the Family Stores.
