Koko Floating Café on Waiheke Island is seeking a friendly, practical part-time General Café Hand to help across basic food prep, kitchen-hand duties and front-of-house service. You will contribute to a warm, efficient café environment and assist in keeping service smooth for locals and visitors.

This is a varied, hands-on hospitality role. You will work across basic food preparation, kitchen-hand duties and customer service, helping the Koko team keep the café running smoothly and ensuring customers receive warm, efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation. Basic knife skills would be useful.
• Undertake kitchen-hand duties including dishes, cleaning and general kitchen support.
• Assist with stock management and keeping service and preparation areas organised.
• Provide friendly table service, clear tables and help maintain a clean and welcoming customer environment.
• Assist with counter service and sales.
• Help create a relaxed, professional and welcoming atmosphere for locals, berth holders and visitors.

About you

• You are friendly, reliable and comfortable dealing with customers.
• You are practical, energetic and willing to help across both kitchen and front-of-house tasks.
• You can work independently when required but enjoy being part of a small team.
• Basic food preparation and knife skills are useful, although training will be provided.
• Hospitality experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important.
• Must have the right to work in New Zealand.
