Job summary

Invercargill City Council’s Splash Palace is hiring a part-time cleaner to join our Aquatic Services team. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors, working 20 hours per week on a roster including Thursday and Friday evenings and weekend shifts.

The successful candidate will have a first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one, experience in cleaning, knowledge of safe chemical use, and strong literacy and numeracy.

Qualifications

• First aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Previous cleaning or commercial cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Comprehension, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Friendliness, enthusiasm and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Clean public and staff areas to a high standard and disinfect surfaces.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish cleaning products and supplies.
• Ensure safe work practices and promote injury prevention.
• Clean other areas as required efficiently.
• Provide a professional, friendly and informative service to customers.
