Job summary

Bupa Stokeswood Care Home in Lower Hutt is seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator for a permanent part-time role (28 hours per week). You will lead activities, plan resident-centred programmes, and support engagement through the Blua App.

The role requires a NZQA Diversional Therapy Level 4 certificate (or in progress), and a minimum of 2 years in care settings. You'll work 9:00am–3:30pm on a 4-on, 2-off roster, enjoy a supportive team, and contribute to a compassionate, community-focused

Qualifications

• NZQA Diversional Therapy Level 4 certificate (or working towards DT qualification).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar healthcare setting.
• Creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and caring atmosphere.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; clean, full driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of activities assistants, ensuring activities are well-coordinated, engaging, and aligned with residents’ needs.
• Manage activity plans for residents across this 87-bed care home.
• Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on assessment outcomes and interests.
• Ensure residents are treated with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
• Support ongoing personal and professional development with on-site managers.
