Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic for its Construction and Maintenance team in New Zealand. You will construct and maintain overhead lines up to 33 kV, operating key equipment and ensuring safe, compliant work across the network.

Responsibilities include developing work plans, upgrading lines and equipment, and maintaining a strong safety record while collaborating with colleagues and customers. A NZ visa and right to work in NZ are required.

Qualifications

• Overhead lines experience and strong safety focus are essential.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and construction environments is preferred.
• Ability to work in high-risk environments with strict safety protocols.
• NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Line Mechanic Distribution Level 4 is required or essential.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines up to 33 kV; install and replace conductors and pole structures.
• Develop work plans for construction, servicing and upgrading of lines and equipment.
• Operate ground-mounted and structure-mounted equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high professional standards and safety at all times.
