Job summary

Northpower is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team in New Zealand. You will contribute to building and maintaining overhead lines and operating key equipment up to 33kV, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on overhead lines and in electrical maintenance.
• Valid EWRB Line Mechanic registration is required.
• NZ Driver Licence is essential; HT licence is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines to meet customer and network requirements.
• Develop work plans for construction, servicing, and upgrading of lines and equipment.
• Install/replace conductors and pole structures as needed.
• Overhaul non-load-bearing pole hardware up to 110 kV.
• Operate ground-mounted and structure-mounted equipment for lines up to 33 kV.
• Maintain high safety and professional standards across all tasks.
