Job summary

Canstaff is seeking a skilled Line Mechanic in Auckland to install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines. You will ensure a reliable power supply, work on distribution networks, and respond to maintenance and emergencies.

The role requires trade-certified Line Mechanic with experience in power systems, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to work at heights in varying weather conditions. A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified Line Mechanic with relevant trade certification.
• Experience with power distribution and transmission networks.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground power lines.
• Inspect electrical systems and identify faults or damage.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on power distribution networks.
• Work with transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
• Climb power poles and operate bucket trucks to reach electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Respond to power outages, emergencies, and scheduled maintenance work.
• Work collaboratively with other team members, contractors, and utility companies.
