Job summary

Auckland RV Centre, a leading caravan and motorhome dealer in Auckland, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own the day-to-day running of our Auckland operation.

This hands-on leadership role manages workshop, service, detailing and operations teams, schedules workflow, prioritises jobs and ensures caravans and motorhomes are prepared and delivered on time while driving systems improvements and KPI performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership with ability to take ownership and resolve issues.
• Experience in automotive dealerships or similar technical industries preferred.
• Strong people management and KPI monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop, service, detailing and operations teams.
• Manage daily workflow, priorities and job allocation.
• Ensure caravans/motorhomes are prepared and delivered on time.
• Oversee PDI, service, warranty and refurbishment work.
• Monitor technician productivity and workshop efficiency.
• Manage staff performance, accountability and development.
• Provide customers with regular, professional updates.
• Resolve escalated customer and operational issues.
• Coordinate parts, suppliers and external contractors.
• Run short daily operational meetings.
• Monitor KPIs and report to MD.
• Improve systems and processes as the business grows.

Job description

Auckland RV Centre is one of New Zealand's leading caravan and motorhome dealerships, selling more than 200 caravans annually and operating a busy sales, service, refurbishment and warranty facility in East Tamaki.

With continued growth and a second South Island location planned, we are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our Auckland operation.

This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for a strong, practical manager who can lead people, manage a busy workshop environment, improve systems and ensure work is completed to a consistently high standard.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our Auckland operation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading our workshop, service, detailing and operational teams
• Managing daily workflow, priorities and job allocation
• Ensuring sold caravans and motorhomes are prepared and delivered on time
• Overseeing PDI, service, warranty and refurbishment work
• Monitoring technician productivity and workshop efficiency
• Managing staff performance, accountability and development
• Ensuring customers receive regular and professional updates
• Resolving escalated customer and operational issues
• Coordinating parts, suppliers and external contractors
• Running short daily operational meetings
• Monitoring operational KPIs and reporting to the Managing Director
• Improving systems and processes as the business continues to grow

Who We’re Looking For

Caravan or motorhome experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates with management experience in automotive dealerships, service departments, mechanical workshops, RV/caravan dealerships, collision repair, marine or similar technical industries.

You’ll be a confident, hands-on leader who can make decisions, set expectations and hold people accountable.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership. When a problem arises, you'll take responsibility for getting it resolved.
