Job summary

Edwards & Hardy Roofing in Hawke's Bay is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive operational efficiency across the business. This full-time role reports to senior management and oversees day-to-day roofing operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities include managing scheduling and resources, supervising roofing teams, implementing QA, and liaising with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

Edwards and Hardy Roofing – Havelock North, North Island

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join Edwards & Hardy Roofing in Hawkes Bay. This is a full-time position that will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency and excellence across our business. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee the day-to‑time operations of our roofing services, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation for quality and will significantly impact our ability to meet client expectations and achieve our strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

Oversee daily operational activities, including project scheduling, resource allocation, and workforce management to ensure optimal productivity

Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring all work is completed on time and within financial parameters

Supervise and coordinate roofing teams, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all sites

Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to guarantee work meets company standards and client specifications

Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to communicate project progress and resolve issues promptly

Develop and implement operational procedures and systems to improve efficiency and reduce waste

Ensure compliance with relevant construction regulations, industry standards, and company policies

About you

5+ years' experience in construction management or operations, with proven experience in the roofing industry or related sectors

Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and health and safety regulations

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality standards

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising and motivating construction teams

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and external partners

Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges

Valid driver's licence and willingness to visit multiple job sites
