Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is a pioneering, tuition-free online high school in New Zealand, delivering social sciences to Years 9–13 via live virtual classrooms. Teach Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA levels 2–3 from a fully remote setup, while fostering wellbeing and personalised support for students across Aotearoa.

You will design engaging lessons, build strong relationships with learners, and collaborate with a team of innovative educators to advance an inclusive, high-quality curriculum.

Qualifications

• Registered NZ teacher with social sciences specialization.
• Strong knowledge of NZ curriculum (NCEA Levels 2–3).
• Experience with online or blended learning environments.
• IGCSE teaching experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and digital collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live online social sciences lessons to Years 9–13, five days a week.
• Design personalised learning experiences for diverse learners.
• Build trust-based relationships in a virtual setting.

Aotearoa Infinite Academyis New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world-class education for students in Years 9 to 13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

Teach engaging social sciences and subject specific content through live virtual classrooms to Years 9 to 13 students, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2 to 3 curriculum. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

What you'll do:

• deliver inspiring live online social sciences and subject specific lessons 5 days per week


• design personalised learning experiences


• build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment


• collaborate with a high-calibre team of innovative educators


• support student progress through differentiated instruction


• provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals


• contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team


• develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning.

What we're looking for

• New Zealand teaching registration.


• Social science teaching qualification and subject expertise.
