Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, is recruiting a Certificated Science teacher for Years 7–15 focusing on Years 9–13. Teach science through live virtual classrooms, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2–3 from anywhere in New Zealand.

Design personalised learning experiences, build trust-based relationships, collaborate with a high-calibre educational team, and provide formative assessment with feedback aligned to curriculum goals.

Qualifications

• New Zealand teaching registration with a science specialism.
• Experience in delivering NCEA/IGCSE curricula online.
• Excellent communication and digital literacy skills.

Aotearoa Infinite Academyis New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world-class education for students in Years 9 to 13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

Teach engaging science through live virtual classrooms to Years 9 to 13 students, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2 to 3 curriculum. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

What you'll do:

• design personalised learning experiences
• build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment
• collaborate with a high-calibre team of innovative educators
• support student progress through differentiated instruction
• provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals
• contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team
• develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning.

What we're looking for

• New Zealand teaching registration.
• Science teaching qualification and subject expertise.
• strong knowledge of NCEA curriculum (Levels 2 to 3).
• excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology.
• IGCSE teaching experience.
• Online or blended learning experience.
• Familiarity with educational technology and AI platforms.
