Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school. We offer Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA curricula with flexible, virtual learning that prioritises wellbeing and personalised support.

We seek a Certificated teacher to teach social sciences to Years 9–13 online, using live virtual classrooms from anywhere in New Zealand. You will design engaging lessons, assess progress, and build a connected learning community.

Qualifications

• NZ teaching registration is required.
• Experience delivering IGCSE preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NCEA Levels 2-3.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live online social sciences lessons 5 days a week.
• Design personalised learning experiences for Years 9-13.
• Build trust-based relationships in a virtual setting.

Aotearoa Infinite Academyis New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world-class education for students in Years 9 to 13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

Teach engaging social sciences and subject specific content through live virtual classrooms to Years 9 to 13 students, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2 to 3 curriculum. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

What you'll do:

• deliver inspiring live online social sciences and subject specific lessons 5 days per week


• design personalised learning experiences


• build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment


• collaborate with a high-calibre team of innovative educators


• support student progress through differentiated instruction


• provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals


• contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team


• develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning.

What we're looking for

• New Zealand teaching registration.


• Social science teaching qualification and subject expertise.


• strong knowledge of NCEA curriculum (Levels 2 to 3).


• excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology.


• IGCSE teaching experience.


• Online or blended learning experience.


• Familiarity with educational technology and AI platforms.
