Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, offering Years 9-13 access to IGCSE and NCEA curricula. This fully remote role lets you teach Science to Years 9-12 from anywhere in New Zealand, while contributing to a connected, wellbeing-focused learning community.

We seek experienced Science teachers with NZ Registration, strong NCEA knowledge, and adeptness with digital tools. IGCSE experience and online teaching are desirable.

The Opportunity

Teach engaging Science through live virtual classrooms to Years 9-12 students, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2-3 curriculum. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver inspiring live online Science lessons five days per week
• Design personalised learning experiences
• Build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment
• Collaborate with a high-calibre team of innovative educators
• Support student progress through differentiated instruction
• Provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals
• Contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team
• Develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• NZ Teaching Registration
• Science teaching qualification and subject expertise
• Strong knowledge of NCEA curriculum (Levels 2-3)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology

Desirable:

• IGCSE teaching experience
• Online or blended learning experience
• Familiarity with educational technology and AI platforms
