Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
• Cut, shape, and weld aluminium structures to specifications
• Fabricate, assemble and install metal components on site
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy; ensure tight tolerances
• Maintain cleanliness and safety on site; operate tools and machinery responsibly
• Work long hours when required and coordinate with the team

We are searching for qualified fabricators and onsite welders within the local area. You will possess good social and team skills, be confident when placed independently onsite to take on complex projects, be fit and willing and able to pass any drug and alcohol testing.

The following position is available. For your application to be considered you must be able to demonstrate:

• 3 years experience (post training) in heavy engineering.
• A high amount of onsite stick welding experience.
• Full drivers licence with no infringements.
• Experience with heavy machinery/transportation an advantage.
• Must be able to fabricate to tight tolerances.
• Must be able to work extended hours as required.
• Ability to transfer into workshop MIG structural fabrication if required.

Full time position with wage range of $30.00-$35.00 per hour.

What You'll Be Doing

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
• Marks off and fabricates structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of relevant scaffolding experience (qualification preferred but not compulsory)
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience handling, cutting, assembling, and glazing aluminium joinery
• Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings, job sheets, and cutting lists accurately
• Strong commitment to safety guidelines, productivity, and high-quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working effectively in a team
• Valid Driver's licence and own transport to commute preferred but not compulsory.
• Competitive hourly rate. ($28/Hour-$35/Hour)l>
• Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week (permanent full-time), maximum of 60 hours per week
