Job summary

Tradestaff in Wellington region is seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators to join the team and contribute to a wide range of welding and fabrication projects. You will work with MIG, TIG and ARC on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium, across both light and heavy fabrication, including read blueprints and meet safety standards.

The role offers a diverse workload with travel to Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Hawke’s Bay regions as needed, and a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' welding/fabrication experience, or NZQF Level 4 qualification.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG and ARC welding across materials.
• Experience with light and heavy fabrication and stainless steel advantageous.
• Own tools and reliable transport; able to provide two references.
• Commitment to health and safety and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding and fabrication across diverse projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Perform high-quality welds using MIG, TIG, and ARC.
• Shape, bend, and assemble components for light and heavy fabrication.

Welder/Fabricators Wanted

Are you a skilled Welder/Fabricator with experience across multiple welding techniques and fabrication types?

We’re on the lookout for adaptable, hands‑on professionals who can hit the ground running and take pride in producing quality work on a variety of materials and projects.

Wellington will be the predominate area of work for this role; however, you may also be required to work in the Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Hawkes Bay regions. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.

About the Role

We’re seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators to join our team and contribute to a wide range of fabrication and welding projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone confident working with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding, as well as both light and heavy fabrication.

You’ll be working with materials such as stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium, and contributing to a variety of structural and non-structural projects.

In this role you will:

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience, or
• A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (or an overseas qualification recognised by NZQA as comparable).
• Proficient across a variety of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and ARC
• Experience with light and heavy fabrication
• Familiarity with stainless steel is an advantage
• Own tools and reliable transport
• Two work references
• Commitment to Health & Safety standards
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
