Job summary

Ezw Painting Limited seeks a skilled Sheet Metal Trade Worker in Auckland to perform light fabrication, TIG/MIG welding, and machine operation on diverse commercial and industrial projects.

You will read technical drawings, select metals, cut, fold, form and weld sheet metal, and finish parts to high quality standards, with a commitment to safety. Expect 30–60 hours per week and weekly pay at $28–$35 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, drawings and specs to determine job requirements.

• Cut stock using shears, guillotines and drills.
• Form metal using folding/bending machines and presses.
• Weld, rivet or braze components into final products.
• Finish products by polishing and cleaning.

Seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Trade Worker for light fabrication, TIG/MIG welding, and machine operation in Auckland. ($28–$35/hr, 30–60 hrs/week).

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sheet Metal Trade Worker to join our team in Auckland.Working on a variety of commercial, industrial, and specialized light fabrication projects, you will be responsible for reading technical drawings, cutting, folding, shaping, and welding sheet metals (stainless steel, aluminium , and mild steel) to high standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements
• Selecting metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium and copper, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications
• Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines, using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments
• Cutting metal stock along guidelines using hand and power shears, guillotines and drills
• Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers
• Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining
• Finishing products by polishing, filing, sanding and cleaning assembled products
• May repair damaged Sheetmetal products and components
• May specialise in fabrication, or on-site assembly and installation, of Sheetmetal products
• May produce aircraft sheet metal components requiring advanced drawing and calculating skills

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or relevant qualifications.
• Strong proficiency in TIG/MIG welding light metals and operating press brakes/guillotines.
• Ability to read and work accurately from technical shop drawings.Physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to high quality and workshop safety standards.
• Competitive hourly rates ($28 – $35/hr dependent on experience)
• Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week (permanent full-time), maximum of 60 hours per week
