Job summary

Petstock NZ is seeking an experienced Merchandise Planner to join our New Zealand Merchandise team. You will develop forecasts, manage category budgets, and drive inventory performance to support growth.

The role focuses on stockturn, GMROI, and data-driven insights across sales and inventory to optimise open-to-buy and seasonal buys. Collaboration with Merch, Supply Chain and Ops is essential to deliver commercial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, or a similar retail planning role.
  • Strong forecasting, analytical, and commercial acumen.
  • Experience with inventory management, replenishment, allocation, and budgeting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A positive, proactive approach and passion for delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage category budgets, forecasts, and inventory plans.

  • Analyse sales, inventory, and category performance to identify opportunities and risks.

  • Providing reporting, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Reporting to the Merchandise Planning Manager NZ, you will play a key role in forecasting, inventory management, financial planning, and delivering data driven insights that support business growth. Where you will add value Developing and managing category budgets, forecasts, and inventory plans. Driving stockturn, GMROI, and inventory productivity outcomes.
