Job summary

The Warehouse, a beloved New Zealand retail brand, seeks a Merchandise Data & Governance professional to ensure reliable master data across core systems and govern data quality. You will work with Merchandise, Planning and Technology teams to drive governance, support systems, and optimise processes requiring strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent practical experience in business, commerce, information systems or related field.
• Experience with master data, business systems or system administration in a commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and system processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across multiple systems.
• Experience supporting business process improvement, system enhancements, testing and change implementation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate merchandise master data across key systems and drive data quality and governance standards.
• Provide guidance and troubleshooting for merchandise systems and support users/teams optimizing system capabilities.
• Manage system updates, hierarchy maintenance, user access, testing, upgrades and enhancements.
• Monitor data quality and system compliance, investigate recurring issues and implement solutions.
• Collaborate across Merchandise, Planning and Technology to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Provide subject matter expertise for merchandise operational issues to minimise disruption.
• Maintain and improve merchandise processes, controls and governance standards.
• Support implementation of system enhancements and new functionality to meet business needs.
