Job summary

Motion NZ is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Power Transmission Applications Engineer to join our Wiri-based team. You will support customers and sales with technical guidance, perform design calculations, and produce product recommendations across diverse industrial sectors.

Ideal candidates include graduates or engineers with related field experience, strong communication, and a valid NZ driver's license.

Qualifications

• Formal technical qualification: BEng (Mech) or NDE Mech.
• Relevant industry experience with Mechanical Power Transmission products is favorable but not essential.
• Excellent written communication skills, including report writing and strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Clear verbal communication skills; this role requires interacting with senior staff, sales staff, and customers; English proficiency required.
• Practical hands-on experience with mechanical components is an advantage.
• Current, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support our customers and sales teams through technical assistance for mechanical power transmission products.
• Design calculations and product recommendations for internal and external customers.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with our sales network.
• Assist where required, with developing and maintaining relationships with our global network of suppliers.
• Product assessments and reports for faults and failures.
