Job summary

Excel Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is a 100% New Zealand-owned leader in Industrial Refrigeration and Commercial HVAC. We seek an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to service plate heat exchangers across the South Island, travelling to client sites and delivering high-quality service.

This hands-on role requires independence, strong communication with clients, strict safety adherence, and the ability to manage time to meet schedules and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and servicing plate heat exchangers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong time management and organisational abilities.
• Familiarity with health and safety requirements and hygiene standards.
• Ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays when required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting plate heat exchangers.
• Travelling to client sites across the South Island.
• Working independently while maintaining communication with clients and the team.
• Completing job documentation and basic reporting using computer systems.
• Following all site safety, hygiene and compliance requirements.
• Managing time to meet service schedules and client expectations.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician with strong site service experience? We are seeking a skilled and reliable professional to join our South Island team, specialising in servicing and maintaining plate heat exchangers across a range of client sites.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, travelling to different locations and delivering high-quality service to industrial clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting plate heat exchangers
• Travelling to client sites across the South Island
• Working independently while maintaining strong communication with clients and the wider team

• Following all site safety, hygiene and compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone practical, reliable and self-motivated who can work confidently on client sites. You will have:

• Experience maintaining and servicing plate heat exchangers
• Basic computer skills
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Familiarity with health and safety requirements, JSA processes and hygiene standards
• The ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays when required
