Job summary

Lion Pty Ltd is seeking a procurement and planning professional to keep production moving in New Zealand by forecasting, ordering and delivering materials across a wide range of items from ingredients to packaging. You’ll manage supplier relationships, optimise stock, and respond quickly to shortages to minimise disruption.

Join a small, high-performing team responsible for around 1,500 materials across more than 100 suppliers and drive improvements in planning processes, supplier performance

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning, sourcing, replenishment, procurement, manufacturing or another relevant areas is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Own material availability across your assigned categories, from forecasting and ordering through to delivery
  • Partner with suppliers to build strong relationships, improve service and resolve supply challenges
  • Optimise inventory to maintain reliable supply while reducing excess, aged and expiring stock
  • Respond quickly to shortages and changing production requirements, working with suppliers to minimise disruption
  • Build strong category knowledge to anticipate risks, understand supply constraints and make informed decisions
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve planning processes, supplier performance and supply chain efficiency

The Role

Keep production moving across Lion NZ by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time, balancing availability, inventory, supply risk and cost. You’ll join a small, high-performing team responsible for around 1,500 materials across more than 100 suppliers. The team plans and purchases materials such as ingredients, cans, glass, labels, closures, cartons and production consumables.

  • Own material availability across your assigned categories, from forecasting and ordering through to delivery
  • Partner with suppliers to build strong relationships, improve service and resolve supply challenges
  • Optimise inventory to maintain reliable supply while reducing excess, aged and expiring stock
  • Respond quickly to shortages and changing production requirements, working with suppliers to minimise disruption
  • Build strong category knowledge to anticipate risks, understand supply constraints and make informed decisions
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve planning processes, supplier performance and supply chain efficiency
About You

Experience in planning, sourcing, replenishment, procurement, manufacturing or another relevant areas is welcomed but not essential.

  • Build strong relationships and confidently hold suppliers accountable
  • Plan ahead and identify supply risks before they impact production
  • Prioritise effectively and make sound decisions when demands change
  • Use data and systems confidently, with strong attention to detail
  • Take ownership and follow through on commitments
  • Excel capability, with SAP or similar system experience beneficial
