Job summary

Millbrook Country Club – Queenstown, New Zealand, invites applications for a Market Garden Apprentice on a fixed-term contract from September 2026 to April 2027. You will work alongside the Organic Market Gardener, gaining hands-on organic horticulture experience in a renowned resort garden.

Youll contribute to seasonal produce for our restaurants, supporting sustainable growing practices and collaborating with Millbrook chefs across the garden, orchard and related areas.

Qualifications

• Interest in environmental sustainability and organic growing practices.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical horticulture skills.
• Experience in horticulture or home gardening is advantageous.
• NZ work visa is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, planting, cultivation and harvesting of seasonal organic produce.
• Support maintenance and development of Market Garden, orchard and surrounding growing areas.
• Learn and apply organic horticulture practices, including soil management and pest control.
• Assist with produce delivery, record keeping and general garden operations.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, health and safety, and environmental sustainability.
• Work closely with the Organic Market Gardener and resort teams to support Market Garden success.

Working alongside ourOrganic Market Gardener, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in anestablished organic market garden while building practical skills and technicalknowledge of organic horticulture. Working incollaboration with Millbrook’s chefs, the Market Garden helps provide seasonalorganic produce for our restaurants while contributing to the unique five-starguest experience we are known for.

What will your day look like?

• Assisting with the preparation,planting, cultivation and harvesting of seasonal organic produce
• Supporting the ongoingmaintenance and development of the Market Garden, orchard and surroundinggrowing areas
• Learning and applying organichorticulture practices, including soil management, pest management andsustainable growing techniques
• Assisting with produce delivery,record keeping and general operational tasks within the garden
• Maintaining high standards ofpresentation, health and safety, and environmental sustainability
• Working closely with the OrganicMarket Gardener and wider resort teams to support the success of the MarketGarden operation

• A valid NZ work visa is required
• Full clean NZ Drivers Licencedesirable.

Location:

Payrate:

$27.00 - $30.00gross per hour based on experience

Hours:

Full timepermanent (30/40 hours per week guaranteed including over the winter period)
