Job summary

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking a Manager Revenue and Refunds based in Palmerston North to lead the Revenue & Refunds team, ensuring robust revenue workflows and accurate refunds for NZTA’s public sector operations.

You will oversee high‑volume financial processing, drive system improvements and maintain strong internal controls, with emphasis on Te Ao Māori considerations and collaboration across teams.

We’re looking for a Manager Revenue and Refunds to lead the team responsible for the collection, reconciliation, and refunding of NZTA revenue streams. In this role, you’ll ensure the integrity and efficiency of our revenue systems and processes, contributing to the financial health of one of New Zealand’s largest public sector organisations.

You Will

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualification (preferably postgraduate) in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as it applies in the public service.

Our purpose is to provide sound commercial and financial services that enable NZTA to deliver on its strategic objectives. The Revenue & Refunds team ensures robust and efficient revenue collection processes are in place to support this.
