Job summary

Deloitte New Zealand in Christchurch seeks a Manager for our Business Advisory team to advise clients on accounting and tax issues and to manage multiple engagements with strong problem-solving and mentoring skills.

You will build client relationships, coach team members, and contribute to business growth while upholding our values and delivering high-quality insights across SME and corporate clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' work experience in a corporate environment (mid-tier or Big4 preferred).
• CA ANZ qualification or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The impact you'll make:

As a Manager in our Business Advisory team you will provide advice to clients on a range of accounting and tax issues.

• Problem solving SME key accounting and tax issues, advising clients on the best practice accounting methodologies and business growth strategies.
• Managing multiple jobs concurrently
• Identifying and providing insightful recommendations to clients
• Sharing knowledge and experiences to develop yourself, peers and junior team members.
• Being present in the market and creating opportunities to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
• Being a role model for our people and clients and recognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions.
• Coaching and managing team members, building careers and technical skills to effectively contribute client deliverables and team success.
• Being part of the team culture, becoming a role model for our people and clients, as well as recognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions.

Your expertise:

Bring your passion for supporting local and international businesses to thrive and see what impact you can make. You'll also have:

• Sound accounting and advisory skills developed through 5+ years' work experience in a corporate environment (preferably with experience from a mid-tier or Big4 accounting firm).
• CA ANZ qualification or equivalent
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport quickly and build connections across all levels within our teams and clients.
• Good problem-solving skills with an eye for detail - able to report on findings, draw insights and help develop tangible solutions.
• Experience in the preparation of and reviewing financial statements in compliance with IRD Standards.
• Knowledge of GST and Income tax
• Experience using Xero and other Financial ERP/Business Systems.
• A drive for excellence and a "can-do" attitude.
• Coaching and mentoring experience of a successful team.
