Job summary

Deloitte NZ's Tax & Business Advisory team in Tauranga seeks an Associate Director to lead complex tax and advisory engagements on behalf of a diverse client base. You will manage client portfolios, coach teams, and develop strategic solutions across local and international tax issues.

The role requires a strong track record in professional services tax or accounting, with a recognised qualification in law or accounting, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while guiding teams

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years' work experience in a professional services tax or accounting environment.
• Professional qualification in law or accounting required.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end tax processes and NZ tax environment.
• Proven organisational and communications skills.

Deloitte New Zealand's Tax & Business Advisory team is widely regarded as experts and leaders in their field. We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Tauranga based team. You will be an experienced tax and accounting professional wanting to take the next step in their career with a leading brand.

Our Business Advisory team in Tauranga works closely with our Hamilton office and together they bring both a deep knowledge of tax and statutory requirements and a breadth of experience applying that knowledge in practice. Our approach combines insight and innovation from multiple disciplines with business and industry knowledge to help our clients excel. We utilise this knowledge and experience by simplifying tax management for clients and enhancing their visibility for making informed strategic decisions.

The impact you’ll make

As an Associate Director you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of tax and accounting issues. You will develop effective business relationships with clients, advise on a range of business advisory and tax issues to clients, including in the context of transaction work, business operations and strategy, and domestic and international tax work.and exceed our client’s expectations and partner with their businesses to grow. Your typical day may include:

• Providingexpert tax & accounting advice across a diverse client base
• Leading and managinga client portfolio
• Helping clients manage risks and achieve their business objectives
• Developing teams through coaching and mentorship
• Utilisingmodern tools to enhance client service and efficiency
