Job summary

Deloitte NZ is seeking a Manager in the Business Advisory team to provide accounting and tax guidance to a diverse client base. You will manage multiple engagements, coach staff, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across levels.

The role emphasizes delivering practical solutions, leading by example, and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive culture within a market-leading professional services firm.

Qualifications

• Sound accounting and advisory skills with 5+ years in a corporate environment.
• CA ANZ qualification or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements per IRD standards.
• Knowledge of GST and Income tax.
• Experience with Xero and financial ERP systems.
• Coaching and mentoring experience.

Job Description

The impact you’ll make:

As a Manager in our Business Advisory team you will provide advice to clients on a range of accounting and tax issues.

While a typical day is difficult to articulate, below are some key aspects of the role:

• Problem solving SME key accounting and tax issues, advising clients on the best practice accounting methodologies and business growth strategies.
• Managing multiple jobs concurrently
• Identifyingand providing insightful recommendations to clients
• Sharing knowledge and experiences to develop yourself,peersand junior team members.
• Being present in the market and creating opportunities to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
• Being a role model for our people and clients andrecognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions.
• Coaching and managing team members, building careers and technical skills to effectively contribute client deliverables and team success.

Qualifications

Your expertise:

Bring your passion for supporting local and international businesses to thrive and see what impact you can make. You'll also have:

• Sound accounting and advisory skills developed through5+years’ work experience in a corporate environment (preferablywith experience from amid-tier or Big4 accounting firm).
• CA ANZqualificationor equivalent
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport quicklyand build connectionsacross all levels within our teams and clients.
• Goodproblem-solvingskills with an eye for detail - able to report on findings, draw insights and help develop tangible solutions.
• Experience in the preparation ofand reviewingfinancial statements in compliance with IRD Standards.
• Knowledge of GST and Income tax
• Experience usingXero and other Financial ERP/Business Systems.
• A drive for excellence and a "can-do" attitude.
• Coaching and mentoring experience of a successful team.
