Job summary

Deloitte New Zealand’s Tax and Business Advisory team leads in delivering value to enterprises across NZ and beyond. As a Manager in Business Advisory, you’ll provide advice on accounting and tax issues while leading multiple client engagements and coaching team members.

You will be part of a values-led organisation with flexible working, ongoing development and opportunities to grow professionally within a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ work experience in a corporate environment (preferably with mid-tier or Big4)
• CA ANZ qualification or equivalent
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements in compliance with standards
• Knowledge of GST and Income tax
• Experience using Xero and other financial ERP/BS systems
• Coaching and mentoring experience of a successful team

The impact you’ll make:

As a Manager in our Business Advisory team you will provide advice to clients on a range of accounting and tax issues.

While a typical day is difficult to articulate, below are some key aspects of the role:

• Problem solving SME key accounting and tax issues, advising clients on the best practice accounting methodologies and business growth strategies.
• Managing multiple jobs concurrently
• Identifyingand providing insightful recommendations to clients
• Sharing knowledge and experiences to develop yourself,peersand junior team members.
• Being present in the market and creating opportunities to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
• Being a role model for our people and clients andrecognising others for the impact they make by their valued contributions.
• Coaching and managing team members, building careers and technical skills to effectively contribute client deliverables and team success.

Your expertise:

Bring your passion for supporting local and international businesses to thrive and see what impact you can make. You'll also have:

• Sound accounting and advisory skills developed through5+years’ work experience in a corporate environment (preferablywith experience from amid-tier or Big4 accounting firm).
• CA ANZqualificationor equivalent
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport quicklyand build connectionsacross all levels within our teams and clients.
• Goodproblem-solvingskills with an eye for detail - able to report on findings, draw insights and help develop tangible solutions.
• Experience in the preparation ofand reviewingfinancial statements in compliance with IRD Standards.
• Knowledge of GST and Income tax
• Experience usingXero and other Financial ERP/Business Systems.
• A drive for excellence and a “can-do” attitude.
• Coaching and mentoring experience of a successful team.
